Our story

Welcome to The Dashwood, formerly known as the Dashwood Arms—an illustrious Grade 2 listed building steeped in history and charm. Once the bustling heart of village life, our recent renovation and revival efforts aim to restore its former glory.

With a legacy tracing back through centuries, The Dashwood has seen it all—from its Civil War days as 'The Dolphin'  where many a duel was said to have taken place on the grounds. To being taken under the ownership of the Dashwood Family in the 18th century. Emblazoned with the motto 'Nothing is inaccessible to virtue,' a sentiment we've embraced in our passionate restoration, this establishment embodies a rich heritage.

The Dashwood: A Historic Gem Reimagined

Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Oxfordshire, it was originally a haven for travellers and locals seeking solace, our establishment has evolved while preserving its historical significance. Positioned near the Cotswolds, it's an ideal launchpad to explore the great outdoors.

Our 10 bedrooms have been lovingly revitalised, and our amenities expanded to ensure a memorable stay. Retaining its quintessential English allure, The Dashwood continues to offer delightful drinks, and genuine hospitality—a sanctuary for both locals and visitors.

Located just 1.5 hours from London, we're the perfect retreat to unwind and recharge. Situated close to Oxford, Kirtlington Park, Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village, and Bicester Heritage, The Dashwood offers a strategic base to explore the region's cultural and natural treasures.
